Step 1

Create your event

Start by tapping Create Event. Fill in the basics so people know what to expect:

When you reach "Are you selling tickets?", choose Yes to unlock ticketing. If your event is free, choose No and it publishes right away — no Stripe needed.

Free RSVP events go live instantly. You only need Stripe when you want to charge for tickets.
Step 2

Connect Stripe to get paid

To sell tickets, you connect a Stripe account. Stripe is the trusted payment company that securely verifies your identity and sends your money straight to your bank.

Why Stripe?

What you'll need

Tap Connect with Stripe and you'll be taken to Stripe to verify. It usually takes just a few minutes. When you're done, you'll come back to Haitian Corner ready to sell.

Until Stripe is connected, your ticketed event is saved as a draft — it won't be public. Finish connecting anytime to make it live.
Already connected Stripe for a past event? You won't be asked again — you'll go straight to setting prices.
Step 3

Set your ticket prices

Once Stripe is connected, set up your tickets:

Each tier sells independently, so VIP can sell out while General Admission is still available. When you're happy, review everything and hit Publish — your tickets go live immediately.

Setting a quantity creates urgency ("only 20 VIP left") and helps you not oversell your venue.
Good to know

How fees & payouts work

Here's the part every organizer wants to understand: you keep your full ticket price. The fees are added on top and paid by the buyer at checkout — so you always net the amount you set.

Say you sell a $20 General Admission ticket. At checkout, the buyer sees something like this:

Ticket price (you keep this)$20.00
Platform fee$2.50
Payment processing (Stripe)~$0.98
Buyer pays~$23.48
You receive$20.00

The exact processing amount varies slightly, but the idea stays the same: the buyer covers the fees, and your payout equals your ticket price. Stripe sends your earnings to your bank automatically.

Payouts are handled entirely by Stripe on their normal schedule. You can track them in your Stripe dashboard anytime.
Step 4

Share & sell tickets

Once published, your event has its own page with a Buy button. Share it everywhere:

Buyers pay securely with a card. As soon as they pay, they get a ticket with a QR code — and they're automatically added to your guest list as "going."

The more places you share your link, the more you sell. Your event page works on phones, tablets, and computers.
Step 5

Check guests in with QR codes

At the door, checking people in is fast and paperless:

You'll see a clear confirmation for each valid ticket, and a warning if someone tries a ticket that's already been used.

Have a second trusted person help scan at busy doors — anyone you designate can check guests in.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to use Stripe?

Yes, for paid tickets. Stripe securely handles payments and identity verification so you get paid directly and buyers can trust the checkout. Free RSVP events don't need Stripe at all.

When do I get my money?

Stripe sends payouts to your bank on their standard schedule. You can see upcoming and past payouts anytime in your Stripe dashboard.

Who pays the fees?

The buyer does. Fees are added on top of your ticket price at checkout, so your payout always equals the price you set.

Can I limit how many tickets I sell?

Yes. Set a quantity for General Admission and VIP separately. Leave it blank for unlimited. When a tier sells out, buyers see it marked as sold out.

What if I need to cancel my event?

Events without any tickets sold can be deleted directly. If tickets have already been sold, contact support so we can help you handle refunds properly for your buyers.

Can someone use the same ticket twice?

No. Once a QR code is scanned and checked in at the door, it's marked used and can't be scanned again — this stops duplicates and fakes.

My event is free — do I still do all this?

No. Just choose "No, free event" when creating it. It publishes instantly with RSVP, and you skip Stripe and ticketing entirely.
